Fixed mode or reciprocal mode?
In fixed mode, both sides remain locked together and the complete frame is moved forward as one unit. In reciprocal mode, the two sides can advance alternately. The appropriate setting depends on the user's balance, strength, coordination and rehabilitation plan. A physiotherapist or other qualified clinician should select the mode and demonstrate safe use.
How to check the fit
- Ask a clinician to confirm that a non-wheeled walking frame is appropriate.
- Set both handles to equal heights and ensure every adjustment pin is fully engaged.
- With the user standing upright, the handles should generally align near the wrist crease and allow a slight bend at the elbows.
- Before each use, check the frame, folding mechanism and all four rubber tips for looseness, damage or wear.
- Use extra care around wet floors, uneven surfaces, thresholds and loose rugs.

Frequently asked questions
Does the Karma WK-80 have wheels?
No. The WK-80 shown here is a non-wheeled walking frame with four rubber-tipped legs.
What is the maximum user weight?
Karma specifies a maximum user weight of 120 kg. Capacity alone does not confirm suitability; the user's measurements, balance and clinical needs should also be assessed.
What is the adjustable handle-height range?
The official WK-80 specification lists a handle-height range of 75–85 cm.
Can the WK-80 fold for storage?
Yes. The aluminium frame folds to make storage and transport easier. Check that the frame is fully opened and secure before use.
Which walking mode should I use?
Use only the fixed or reciprocal mode recommended during a professional assessment and training session. Do not change modes without understanding how the change affects stability and gait.
